This technique has been used to investigate various crack tip parameters [[] Diaz, F.A., Patterson, E.A., Tomlinson, R.A., and Yates, J.R., Fatigue and Fracture in Engineering Materials and Structures, Vol. 27, (2004) pp. 571 – 583. ,[] Zanganeh, M., Tomlinson, R.A., and Yates J.R., T-stress determination using thermoelastic stress analysis, Journal of Strain Analysis for Engineering Design, Vol.43, (2008), pp 529-537. ] but recently it has been proposed that an understanding of the crack tip plasticity may be obtained from the TSA phase data [[] Patki, A.S., Patterson, EA., Fatigue and Fracture of Engineering Materials and Structures, Vol. 33, (2010), pp. 809-821. ].
Areas with a maximum principal strain greater than the material yield value were assumed to have yielded and hence be inside the plastic zone.
Previous work using the optical method of caustics has shown that under zero load a residual caustic is observed at the tip of the fatigue crack indicating the presence of a residual strain field, due to crack tip plasticity [[]Tomlinson, R.A., Patterson, E.A., Fatigue and Fracture in Engineering Materials and Structures, Vol. 20, (10), (1997), pp. 1467-1479. ].

Intrinsic factors 1) Material properties.
From tribology aspect, under the same working conditions, materials with excellent antifriction and abrasion resistance properties can reduce the failure frequency greatly.
Wear and fatigue failures are two main failure types for most materials. 2) Surface properties.

Introduction GaN and related materials (III-Ns) continue to mature despite the lack of a native substrate to permit homoepitaxial growth of device layers.
More advanced device technologies based on III-N materials such as lasers, UV detectors and emitters, high power rf devices for higher frequency applications, and power switching devices are poised for success due to advances in heteroepitaxial approaches and the expanded use of SiC substrates, a result of their increased availability and improved quality.
If this is the case, then reducing the number of nucleation sites appears to be one approach for making larger-grained material.
Recent work suggests that through elimination of surface steps and screw dislocations in the SiC (which act as a source of surface steps), III-N films can be deposited with quality equal to or better than that of free-standing GaN substrate materials.

They all display a homogeneous jagged step front which is the sign of single domain 3C-SiC material [16].
In the framework of a European program called MANSiC and starting next year, these thin and thick 3C materials will be characterized and processed for devices fabrication.

There is a method for calculating them in the elastoplastic stage of materials operation, which makes it possible to assess the behavior of a construction under operational loads up to destruction.
The physical and mechanical characteristics of the materials of the models were determined by testing special samples.
