However, in the actual civil engineering, the value of most of the index of evaluation is not the median the best, but the less the better or the bigger the better.
In civil engineering quality evaluation, In the case of index the less the better, use diagram (b) to determine the optimal point, In the case of index the bigger the better,use diagram (c) to determine the optimal point.

To study the application of E shaped steel bearing on the simply supported beam bridge, the Xinhua bridge is analyzed by the nonlinear time-history method and the Midas/Civil software, considering the interaction between pile and soil.
Introduction With rapid development of bridge engineering, various devices are used to improve the anti-seismic performance of bridge [1].
Based on the E shaped steel bearing, this paper establishes two models about simply supported beam bridge by the Midas/Civil software and studies damping performance of the E shaped steel bearing by the nonlinear time-history method.
