The curing monitoring of the polymeric composite materials has attracted wide interests recently.
Introduction The composite materials have been widely applied in industry because of high specific stiffness and strength.
Within two years, 1988 and 1989, the polymer fiber embedded into composite materials and fiber optic fresnel reflection technique were consecutively presented to monitor the refractive index changes in the composite materials during curing process [1, 2].
In 2001, a method to improve detecting effect of the sensors by embedding FBG into composite materials in different layers was proposed by Kuang and colleagues [6].
Balageas: Journal of Intelligent Material Systems and Structures Vol. 9 (1998), p. 785-787 [5] Y.

We clearly see a broad amorphous halo characteristic of amorphous materials.
This is why metallic glasses are considered macroscopically brittle materials but microscopically ductile.

Foremost development in automotive applications is to employ lightweight materials such as aluminum.
The strength to weight ratio and material behavior of aluminum brand it more striking in the design of crash box structures than other high strength materials such as steel.
