Effects on the Clearance of Automotive Hub-Bearing Assemblies

Article Preview

Abstract:

Dynamics performance of the bearing and the reliability are largely depended on its clearance. The clearance of the bearing is determined by the assembly process, the initial setting clearance, the rotating speed, the thermo-expansion, etc. In this paper, the clearance of automotive hub bearing is modeled by analytical method. Then an illustrative example is given for demonstrating the effectiveness of the model. The fundamental study is the basic of dynamics performance of the bearing. Also, it can be used for analyzing the performance of bearing assemblies as well as optimization of the process.
