Abstract:

With rapid development of WebGIS technology, the agricultural administration sections can publish and maintain the quality information of cultivated land by WebGIS, it allows users remotely access, query and analyze the information of land quality and soil fertility through the network for farmers to provide decision-making information of farming and fertilizer. Taking Yu county, Henan province, China as an example, this study presents the implementation of WebGIS for the Yu county’s land quality using ArcGIS Server and ASP.net. The system has basic functions of the geographic information system, such as enlargement, reduction, roaming, full display, length and area measurement; the system can also use the advanced functions, such as the advanced SQL query, print the query results according to different scales, etc. The system also provides the relationship with the public map services (Virtual Earth), it make the user find easily the location information of his own spot. This study provides the basic data management platform for agricultural informatization.
