Simulation and Experiment for Highway Toll Station

Article Preview

Abstract:

Toll station is the bottleneck of the highway. The simulation method is effective to analyze the traffic characteristics of highway toll station. The microscopic simulation model and the structure of toll station are built. The vehicle generation model, car-following model based on minimum safety distance, and the vehicle driving track selection model are analyzed. The simulation system is developed using VC++. The experiments with a dynamic adjustment method are studied using the simulation system, and the service level and vehicle passage rate are analyzed. The results show that the simulation system is suited to the real traffic characteristics and is an effective tool for highway toll station traffic analysis.
