Drop Simulation and Cushioning Package Analysis of 19-Inch LCD
Abstract:
In this paper, drop simulation of 19-inch liquid crystal display (LCD) in three kinds of falling orientations was carried out by Ls-dyna software. By comparing and analyzing the dynamic characteristics, such as the maximum acceleration and stress distribution in the cases of face-down, back-down and bottom-down falling orientations, it was showed the maximum acceleration values were the lowest in the case of back-down falling orientation during the whole drop process, and maximum stress occurred several times in the screen and spread around from the center. The structure and form of LCD cushions were recommended for the reference to the design of cushioning package.
