Prototyping in the Product Interface Design

Article Preview

Abstract:

As a critical tool in the interface design, prototyping can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the interface and can help developers and manufactures decrease the cost of products development by testing products’ usability before they enter into the market. The paper introduced the importance of prototyping in product interface design and its developing trend in the present and in the future by discussing the background of prototyping techniques, the advantages and disadvantages of different types of prototypes, how to prototype in the product interface design and how to evaluate prototypes.
