Design of Electronic Sphygmomanometer Based on Oscillography

Article Preview

Abstract:

The appropriate blood pressure, as an important physiological parameter for reflecting the status of cardiovascular system, can maintain the normal metabolism of human body. In this paper, the electronic sphygmomanometer system based on the oscillometry adopts the MSP430 microcomputer as the core microprocessor, the pressure sensor as signal collector, LM324 as the core analog signal processing chip. The system consists of the cuff with inner air bag, baroceptor, signal processing unit, gas-charging or degassing unit and microprocessor. Controlled by the microprocessor the gas-charging or degassing unit can inflate or deflate the cuff, and the pressure signal from the pressure sensor is processed by the signal processing unit to become the blood pressure value by using oscillography. The system can reduce the number of chips and components as far as possible, featuring low cost and consumption.
