The Research on the Reliability of Computer Information Systems Based on Bayesian Networks

Abstract:

This paper applied Bayesian Networks to the analysis of the reliability of computer information systems. After studying the internal structures of the systems, we divided the factors affecting the system reliability into two parts. One is the part of components and the other is the part of connections. Treating the components and connections as nodes, we then constructed a Bayesian Network of computer information systems. Based on the individual probability of each node we calculate the respective reliability of the component subsystem, the connection subsystem and the entire system. In the fourth part we gave a specific example. It was found that the reliability model based on Bayesian Networks had a good diagnostic function, which could help decision-makers to find the reasons for the unreliability of the system.
