Abstract: Recently, the Euler strut is used as the supporting spring in the low frequency isolation. An Euler spring is a column or strut of steel material which is compressed elastically beyond its buckling load, which makes the ratio of the isolated mass to the mass of the supporting spring maximum, and greatly increasing the internal resonant frequencies of the isolator. In this research, the unique mechanical properties and the expressions of the displacement transmissibility of the Euler strut are deduced. The influences of structural parameters of the strut on the stiffness and vibration isolation characteristics are investigated in detail. The results show that the Euler strut has the potential in low frequency vibration isolation, and the length and breadth of the strut can influence the stiffness, transmissibility and critical loading mass respectively.

Abstract: Automotive enterprise engaged in the engine remanufacturing will be a sustainable green path, especially on the severe crisis of energy and environment. On the basis of putting forward the necessity of engine remanufacturing, this paper achieves the comprehensive index weights of all remanufactured engine decisions so as to guide enterprises engaged in engine remanufacturing business.

Abstract: The method for an identikit creating has been practically unchanged since its invention, despite the fact that it is low effective. By using genetic algorithms, faces are taken as wholes and are created by generations. Using crossover and mutation, they evolve themselves, so there is no need to work with individual parts. Witness chooses the best face in every generation, so he does not have to give a description. Faces are evolving until the witness is satisfied with the results.

Abstract: The new product development of manufacturing Enterprises is not only complicated, expensive and more difficult, but the risk is higher. There will be many uncertain factors. An enterprise carries on the risk assessment, analyzes conclusion and proposes counter measures on the commercial development stage of new product in manufacturing enterprises by analyzing the risk factors and building an effective risk assessment index system including 6 first-level indicators and 22 secondary indicators of the commercial development stage of new product, along with the weight factor table method and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, which will reduce the risk and improve success rate of new product development, thus providing a theoretical basis for enterprises to improve risk management capabilities.

Abstract: This paper presents a new study on the recycling of Supreme garnet (or IMC garnet) in abrasive waterjet machining. In this study, the reusability of the garnet was investigated. Also, the optimal particle size for the recycling of the garnet was pointed out. In addition, the cutting performance and the cutting quality of the recycled abrasive were investigated by comparing with that of new abrasives. From the results, the way how to recycle effectively the garnet was proposed.

Abstract: The influence of machined surface roughness on the fatigue life of S355JR steel has been investigated. The specimen have been machined with three roughness levels and tested under plane fatigue. The surface roughness parameters were used to estimate the effective stress concentration factors Kt using the Arola-Ramulu model and Neuber model. In this paper it is proposed a modification for both models. Based on the experimental results was obtained the evolution of the effective stress concentration factor for the original Arola-Ramulu and Neuber models and also for the modified ones.

Abstract: Elimination of the non-value added activities in the bogie assembly shop during bogie assembly process. The various non-value added activities are found in the assembly shop such as excess distance between each assembly stages, excess cost to flow of material from one stage to another stage, waste of time and non-flexibility of shop. These types of non-value added activities occur due to the improper arrangement of bogie assembly stages. Implementation of lean manufacturing systems through layout design by the conversion of existing layout of bogie assembly shop into proposed layout. Analysing the existing layout by using the CRAFT method to find out the best optimized layout .Interchanges are made between each stages that help to correct the present layout. Design calculation are done for various stages .Interchanging of stages of different section are considered by distant matrix and total cost calculations .Various cost of all the pair wise interchanged stages are estimated to find the best low cost interchange. As per the design calculation best interchange between the two stages are considered and that lead to the development of new proposed layout in which all the non-value added activities are eliminated

Abstract: Based on the ADMAS software environment, the study designed a simulation model of the whole car virtual prototype for a certain type of car; then random road was created, and the movements and forces of the car in different working conditions were simulated; the originally designed type of car was simulated for its ride comfort evaluation. Then through the analysis of sensitivity, the important factors influencing the whole car ride comfort were found. In order to improve the whole car ride comfort, the suspension spring stiffness and shock-absorbing damper of the original design were optimized, which effectively improved the riding comfort of this type of car. The paper aims at improving the designing method of car ride comfort.

Abstract: Once faults happened in the process industry, it will bring on heavy casualties and fatal property losses, even lead to irreclaimable pollution. Combining the large-scale sample set reduction strategy with SVM, this paper proposed a new improved support vector machine (SVM) training algorithm based on support vectors to solve the difficulty of fault diagnosis of process industry. A new reduction algorithm is presented to reduce large-scale sample set. The constraint threshold is introduced in the new algorithm. The new training algorithm can eliminate the samples correspond to non-support vectors so that poor generation ability caused by large-scale training sample set is solved. A new evaluating indicator of large-scale sample set reduction strategy is also proposed in this paper. The improved SVM algorithm proposed is applied to two typical fault diagnosis of process industry. The results of experiments show that the improved SVM algorithm not only reduces greatly the cost of SVM learning but also markedly increases the speed of classification, and at one time the accuracy of fault diagnosis is not debased.
