The Offshore Platform Rigid-Frame Strength Analysis Using ABAQUS

Article Preview

Abstract:

The rigid frame joint node is rigid node. And each rod can not only withstand the tension- compression load, but also can bear the bending. For the complicated rigid frame, to work out every rod internal stress by artificial calculation is difficult. In ABAQUS, the wire model can be built to simulate the real rigid frame. After setting the attributes, loads, grid, computing parameters in the wire model, the reaction force, internal stress and deformation can be output in graphic. Then according to the relevant codes, the simulation results can be used to check the strength of rigid frame. It is verified that for analyzing the rigid frame strength, the modeling was convenient and results were accurate in ABAQUS, which greatly improved the work efficiency.
