Article Preview

Abstract:

Discipline construction is the foundation of school operation and the key link of a university’s development. Generally speaking, discipline construction of maritime universities can be concluded to four models: vocational education model, mutual development of practice and scientific research model, derivative discipline development model and large-scale integrated development model. Through the comprehensive assessment of the four models by the use of lattice order decision-making method with interval numbers, the advantages and disadvantages of each model are clearly shown. Taking the economic and social factors into consideration, we can see that mutual development of practice and scientific research model is the most suitable model for maritime universities’ discipline construction in China, which provides important reference value and contributes to the development of our discipline construction.
