Abstract: As an important equipment in the gas receiving station, LNG storage tanks is an imprortant department to guarantee the gas providing for the significant gas sectors as well as their facilities safe operation, who has the role that cannot be replaced ,LNG in the tank is flammable and explosive medium, once the tank damaged, a large number of flammable low temperature liquid will leak, nevitably have influence on the structure of prestressed concrete performance and seismic response of the rigid wall, and destructive secondary disasters may be happened. So reseaching the heat transfer of LNG outside wall during leaking and the seismic response is very necessary. This paper takes a 50000m3 overground LNG tank as the research object, using fluent software to simulate the temperature field and using ADINA to research the seismic response of outer wall, analyzes the the change rule of temperature along the thickness and height during LNG leakage, and seismic response of outer wall when leakage happened at different height, the results can provide theoretical basis for the security calculated during LNG tanks leakage.

Abstract: The paper established retained goaf stability analysis model in iron deposit based on the organic combination of three zone theory, rock movement theory and finite element theory. Taking a mine in Hebei as an example, qualitative and quantitative analysis was conducted on the stability influence of mine retention goaf to obtain a satisfactory evaluation effect and verify feasibility of the stability comprehensive analysis method. The results provide a scientific basis for the necessity to process the mine goaf.

Abstract: As a typical translational landslide, Yangliuya landslide only took a few days to have its deformation intensified from the day it was found, and the precursors of sliding had emerged with the front and back edges of the landslide and cracks at both sides emerging as associated phenomena. How to effectively prevent the landslide in accelerating deformation from further evolving into a disastrous landslide Based on the comparative analysis on the engineering geological conditions, emergency handling process, emergency engineering measures and deformation evolving characteristics of the Yangliuya landslide, the emergency engineering measures and the effects are assessed in the paper. And theory and practical experience about emergency handling of translational landslide disaster are researched and summarized in this paper through verifying the actual effect of such engineering measures with field monitoring data and numerical simulation analysis to offer a reference for the people to handle similar landslide disasters.

Abstract: Rain-wind induced vibration (RWIV) is a large amplitude and low frequency vibration of stay cables under wind and rain. The formation and oscillation of rivulets on stay cable surface plays an important role in RWIV, and it is also the symbolic characteristics of RWIV. In this paper, a numerical simulation approach of the formation process of rivulets around stay cable is presented by combining gas-liquid two-phase theory and volume of fluid method (VOF method) for the first time. The effect of gravity and air flow on morphology of rivulets is analysed by numerical simulation using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software-CFX. The veracity and rationality of this approach is verifed by comparing with existing experimental data.

Abstract: Building fires, which may cause failure of buildings, occur frequently in cities all over the world. Composite structural members, such as concrete filled steel tube columns and steel-decked composite floor slabs, are being increasingly used in buildings for their dual advantage of excellent load bearing capacity and fire resistance. Because the heat transfer across a steel-concrete interface is difficult to model using ordinary elements, most existing finite element analysis models ignore the effect of thermal contact resistance. In this paper, several two- and three-dimensional new thermal resistance elements (referred as TRE for brevity), which have been embed in the special purpose finite element software TFIELD coded by authors, are proposed. Two numerical examples are given. Numerical simulating results demonstrate that the proposed thermal resistance elements are extremely effective.

Abstract: A finite element model for square reinforced concrete stub column under overall fire and axial compression is developed. The temperature of columns subjected to simulated heating and cooling standard fire and the maximal temperature field were determined. The creep of steel bars, bond slip between steel bars and concrete, transformation of material properties were considered in the force analysis. The deformation under overall fire and the load bearing capacity of the column with initial load after fire are provided.

Abstract: Glacial debris flows along International Karakorum Highway (KKH) connecting northern Pakistan with China, are always causing so extreme threats to a majority of bridges built along KKH. So the improvement project of KKH has been being carried out by China Road & Bridge Corporation in 2008. However it is necessary to collect the detailed data about the damages to bridges and obtain the most dangerous key position. The series of field investigations from 2008 to 2011 demonstrate that the damages are classified into four categories: deposition under bridge, abrasive erosion, impact on piers or abutment and collapse due to buoyancy. Statistics indicate deposition under bridge is the most dominant damage whereas the most serious damage is the impact on piers or abutments. Therefore a case study on key point is made for the typical bridge subjected to impact from Ghulkin glacial debris flow. Finally prevention measures are given.

Abstract: The disaster-related epidemic is the secondary disaster after serious earthquake. By comparing the epidemic situations and prevention work in Tangshan and Wenchuan earthquakes, this paper summarized the successful factors and deficiencies. Some countermeasures are proposed for disaster epidemic prevention, such as integration of the epidemic prevention system, perfection of disease prevention standard, establishment of hygienic evaluation system, planning of material reservation and development of epidemic prevention equipment.

Abstract: The assessment method of fire-damaged concrete bridge with prestressed hollow core plate girders was presented in this paper. The historical sketch of assessment of fire-damaged concrete structures was briefly introduced. One fire-damaged concrete bridge with prestressed hollow core plate girders was shown as an example. The process of assessment of fire-damaged concrete bridge with prestressed hollow core plate girders was provided. According to the assessment results, methods of repair and strengthening were presented for different fire-damaged level of prestressed hollow core plate girders. The research results could help expand use of fire-damaged assessment and repair of prestressed concrete bridges.

Abstract: Compared with cities in China, emergency evacuation and rescue in villages and towns are more difficult, and the technical indexes for planning of urban emergency shelters cannot be copied. Through studied experiences in emergency shelters planning and construction from home and abroad, and combining China’s conditions, this paper proposes types, functions, sizes and scope of service of disaster-mitigation emergency congregate shelter in villages and small towns in China, as well as arrangements of emergency facilities and requirements for planning.
