Study on Nature-Oriented Furniture Design

Abstract:

By summing up the adverse consequences caused in the practice of the concept of “human-orientation”, it proposed the idea of “nature-orientation” is superior to “human-orientation”, and analyzed the necessity to apply the idea of “nature-orientation” in designs. Then it mainly studied on nature-oriented furniture design which included its connotation and basic design principles. And then it discussed in detail how to combine the basic elements of furniture design including materials, texture and color, shape, structure, and process to achieve nature-oriented furniture design, which can help to establish development mode of low carbon and environmental protection for furniture industry, as well as to provide a reference for the idea of “nature-orientation” applied in other fields.
