Supporting Research of Product Innovative Design Knowledge for Novices

Article Preview

Abstract:

In order to support novice designers for product innovative design, we presented a knowledge management system of product innovative design with an ontology model, which is based on the process of product innovative design and the principle of taxonomy. The system is used to collect, process, reuse and share the knowledge of product innovative design, to help novices to search and apply the relevant design cases, and to speed up the knowledge conversion process, so as to develop the design concepts faster and more efficiently. We invited novices to use the system, and according to the feedback to verify the availability of the system.
