Method to Set the Zero-Datum of Axes of Parallel Mechanisms

Abstract:

A new method to set zero-datum on each driving axis of CNC machine tools is proposed in this paper. The accurate method to determine the zero-datum of the virtual-axis of hybrid CNC machine tools composed of parallel parts is discussed as illustration. The correcting system and the correcting algorithm of posture zero-datum are described separately. Further more, the accuracy of position return-to-zero is experimented simultaneously.
