Traffic Safety Improvement Design of Signalized Intersection

Article Preview

Abstract:

As an important node of the urban transport network, road signalized intersection collects more than one direction of traffic flows. Thus, it not only becomes the throat of the transportation network, but also accident-prone area. Through field survey, this paper analyses a typical signalized intersection with safety problems and proposes an improvement design plan. Afterwards, with the use of the crash reduction factor (CRF), it forecasts the effects of safety improvement measures.
