Abstract: An integrated research method was used to discuss the issue of construction of low carbon community. It was thought that the community construction scale includes land use scale and dimension size, which not only involves the efficiency of people's daily life, but also the consumption of all kinds of resources like energy in the whole life cycle in the operation of the community. What was put forward is that, for the determination of space scale of the community, we should consider the population agglomeration scale and transportation conditions and also give attention to the operating efficiency and maintenance resources. Conclusion: the community space of medium size is the ideal community scale to achieve low carbon community.

Abstract: The nonlinear competition model simulates different cases and predicts the future competition between green space and construction land along time changes. The research indicates if the current development of construction land and green space continues, the green space is likely to decrease in the 10 years. In order to maintain an improving ecological environment, the rate of increasing construction land should be decreased by 50% and that of increasing green space should remain 0.47% annually. This is a positive development model which indicates a scientific significance of using the nonlinear competition model for the inner mechanism of simulating the dynamics of green space and reasonable arrangement of various land uses.

Abstract: Based on the analysis of nine factors, which influencing mostly the sustainable attraction of Ecological Countryside Resort, this paper builds an index system for evaluating the attraction of Ecological Countryside Resort. Considering the attribute of the evaluation of sustainable attraction of ecological countryside resort, which is multi-gradation, multi-factor, and qualitative-and-quantitative-index-concentrating, this paper develops a multilevel fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method for assessing sustainable attraction of Ecological Countryside Resort. Thus, this paper provides a basis for improving the sustainable attraction of Ecological Countryside Resort, prolonging the life of Ecological Countryside Resort, optimizing the development and service marketing of Ecological Countryside Resort.

Abstract: Due to frequent natural disaster around the world, the post-disaster recovery plan has become one of the most important issues that many countries face. In 2009, the devastation of a typhoon at southern Taiwan had washed away one of the local fishing villages. How to face and manage the high-risk-prone disaster area and its approach to restoration should be re-evaluated. This paper uses Pingtungs Raise Water, Grow Electricity plan as a case study to demonstrate the success of participant collaboration. With a donation of 100 million U.S dollars, 44 hectares of farm land, and integration of each other, sustainability of land use emerged. It does not only echo the government responsibility but also maintain the livelihood of the farmers. Although this plan aligns with concepts of sustainable development, it still faced challenges from formal rules, informal constraints and the enforcement characteristics of both. The 'Raise Water, Grow Electricity' plan shows a distinct pattern of institutional change. Through cooperation of informal constrains including local participation and translation of land and formal rules, local alliances can benefit and then call the new actors to join for more policy resources.

Abstract: Based on historical maps and literatures, the appearance, quantity, distribution and development of city are first analyzed by quantitative and qualitative analysis method. Then, a line chart method, which reflects the evolution characteristic of ancient city in Sanqin, is proposed. Further, it is found that there are two peak times and two troughs during the development of cities in Sanqin.
