Abstract: To study the design rationality of intersection and gateways, reduce traffic congestion and accidents, based on the function design conception,this paper took connected roads in Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration as research object, combined theoretical analysis and VISSIM simulations, analyzed the traffic characteristics, reasonable forms, traffic organization design methods in the intersections, as well as the locations and reasonable intervals of passageways. The results show that: length of left-turn lanes on city agglomeration connection roads can be 40m to100m, while the length of right-turn lanes for acceleration or deceleration can be 40m~60m. When the distance between two gateways ranges is 800m~900m, the running speed will increase obviously and the longest queue length will decrease remarkably; But when it is over 900m, the variation of running speed and queue length will change to be smaller.So the distance recommended value is 900m-1200m.

Abstract: Multiple urban projects constructed at same time block many roads, which increases the difficulty for traffic organization. Considering the characteristics of multiple projects, took construction method, construction procedure, land development, traffic environment and traffic flow into account, this paper proposes a workflow for traffic organization, recommends building temporary road and reconstructing branch road to undertake all the traffic from blocked roads. Selecting Jiangcheng Avenue complex project as a case, four methods were put forward for keeping traffic uninterrupted during construction with different temporary road route designs and traffic management measures.

Abstract: From the basic feelings of urban road use, the paper selects 15 indicators to factor analysis for satisfaction of urban road use; those indicators are attributed to the four common factors, final the scores of integrated weighting factor is taken variable to cluster analysis. The results showed that the satisfaction of 13 road sections that was selected can be divides into four levels. By comparison, the results of analysis are more in line with the actual situation of the road section, therefore the results can provide a basis to enhance and improve road conditions for the relevant personnel.

Abstract: In order to improve freeways traffic safety, reduce staff and vehicles casualties and prevent secondary traffic accidents, the accident site section on freeway is divided into six regions of the warning zone, the upstream transition zone, the buffer zone, the accident zone, the downstream transition zone and the termination zone. Establish the warning zone speed-limit model by considering the relevant factors of driver's field of vision and transportation distance of visual cognition and then speed-limit programs are proposed according to the warning area speed-limit model. Speed-limit signs of the warning zone take phased settings based on both of those. The results show that the proposed warning area speed limit model conforms to the actual need, decision science, and having important practical value for freeway traffic safety.

Abstract: As an important node of the urban transport network, road signalized intersection collects more than one direction of traffic flows. Thus, it not only becomes the throat of the transportation network, but also accident-prone area. Through field survey, this paper analyses a typical signalized intersection with safety problems and proposes an improvement design plan. Afterwards, with the use of the crash reduction factor (CRF), it forecasts the effects of safety improvement measures.
