Accuracy Analysis of Highway Engineering Structure Point Position Surveyed with Total Station

Article Preview

Abstract:

Technical requirements for a total station (TS) survey of highway engineering structure point positions were investigated according to the accuracy estimation of the error theory. First, an analytic model for the TS 3-D surveying accuracy was established, then, through analyses of various errors caused in operational processes, the accuracies of horizontally and vertically surveyed point positions were estimated, respectively, in different surveying conditions; and lastly referring to the construction errors allowable for different positions of highway engineering structures, the relevant technical requirements for the TS 3-D surveying operation were presented.
