Abstract: This paper presents the development of a fuzzy logic controller for a knee-FES-ergometer for stroke patients knee swinging exercise. The knee-FES-ergometer is introduced as a hybrid exercise for a long repetitive knee swinging exercise for stroke patient through the application of a knee swinging ergometer and functional electrical stimulation. The specially designed ergometer is used to reduce the required electrical stimulation and hence avoids early muscle fatigue. A knee swinging ergometer model, humanoid model and a stimulated quadriceps muscle model are developed to simulate the FES-assisted knee swinging exercise. A fuzzy logic controller is then designed to control the repetitive knee swinging. Simulation results verifying the knee swinging trajectories and the reduced electrical stimulation required are presented and discussed.

Abstract: This paper proposes a 3D environment mapping and pothole detection system by using a laser range finder for a mobile robot. The robot also equips two rotary encoders and an inertial measurement unit to deal with dead reckoning (DR). Through the coordinate transform method from 2D to 3D, each point in 3D coordinate could be calculated. This method is called mobile mapping system (MMS). In addition, the result for road damage is often caused by potholes. Therefore, the pothole detection is considered here by using a laser range finder and a camera. A human-machine interface is designed to record the data on the road including the location and environment. The experiment has been tested on the university road.

Abstract: To solve the problem that knowledge of standard components cannot be quickly applied to design process of aircraft, a novel approach based on knowledge is proposed from the instantiated requirements of standard components. Knowledge-based model based on semantic of standard component is described, which is composed of parameters, rules, solid model and assembly information. The information model is expressed and stored based on XML. Knowledge-based model is provided to support the specifications determination, semantic modeling of solid model and batch assembly of standard components by loosely coupled manner. Design knowledge is seamlessly, quickly applied to the instantiated process of standard components. Effectiveness of the proposed model and method is verified by an aircraft design example of standard components. CLC number: TP391.7 Document code: A

Abstract: This paper studied the dynamic suppression problems of active control of composite panel with uncertain parameters. Considering uncertain factors of panel, finite element vibration dynamic model is established for active vibration control, through interval analysis method to estimate panel in active control of vibration critical air speed and flutter amplitude, to this determined active suppression effects of panel, numerical simulation indicate that through with Piezoelectric patches as active vibration control, the panel with uncertain parameters of whole interval of vibration critical wind speed were changed from vibration to convergence, showing that the control effect was significant.

Abstract: With the increasing needs for high-performance gas sensors in industrial production, environmental monitoring and so on, the research on gas sensors is becoming more and more important. In this paper, the electric field intensity distribution simulation process of the interdigital microelectrodes (IMEs) is discussed in details to get the proper electrode structural parameters. The IMEs on the ITO surface with a minimum gap of about 4μm are achieved by lithography, which provides a reliable, low-cost manufacturing method. Sensitive components are made of the multi-walled carbon nanotubes modified materials. The gas-sensing property of the sensor is detected for ammonia. The experiment result shows that the performance of the nanomodified sensor is obviously improved.

Abstract: Distortion typically occurs when images are captured from the surface of a cylindrical object. This problem is obvious in Quick Response (QR) code images, which necessitate distortion correction for subsequent information reading. Based on a detailed analysis of this distortion, we divided it into linear distortion along the generatrix direction and curl distortion perpendicular to the generatrix direction, and proposed a unified method to correct the distortion of both components. Experimental results are given to demonstrate the feasibility and applicability of the method.

Abstract: In this paper, an application-layer networking system is analyzed and implemented for wireless sensor network. We focus on studying the binding connection methods on the applicationlayer network to implement the universal plug in/out capability on ZigBee networks. The proposed application-layer network provides a cluster-based and plug-and-play communication functions to dynamically and automatically connect in/out the ZigBee nodes on wireless sensor networks. Moreover, the network planning and connection mechanism is achieved by the Binding link objects of ZigBee application-layer functions. By means of Binding connection method, ZigBee nodes in sensor network can obtain the real-time messages and valid information each other. In this study, the various parameters setting and system firmware program are designed to analyze and evaluate the binding methods and data packets of application-layer communication for ZigBee network. Finally, the profile cluster IDs of application-layer network are applied to build up the specific ZigBee sensor systems with Cluster In/Out functions.

Abstract: This work investigates a power line communication (PLC) in a DC power management system comprising master-slave control networks. Microcontroller-based master and slave units are designed with serial ports for communication with a controller and a transmission port to couple the signal to modems at both ends. However, coupling data signals to power line through modulation interfacing circuits is a challenging task. In this work, we used time-division multiplexing (TDM) technique to divide into two timings, Powering Time and Communication Time, on the DC power line and can reduce the complexity of the master-slave network and noise effect on the power line.

Abstract: Firstly, the convolutional encoding with constraint length of 7 is used as the channel coding scheme in Beidou RDSS system. In addition, in receiver design Viterbi Decoder serves as the decoder of convolutional encoding. Finally, the optimized design of hardware construction in traditional Viterbi compared with that in decoder is introduced to reduce hardware complexity.
