Abstract: To ensure the safe use of lateral lifting platform for processing and manufacturing railway vehicles. This paper analyzes the use conditions of lateral lifting platform, and makes a contact nonlinear finite element analysis on various typical use conditions. The positions of parts subject to danger can be found out through the results of static strength analysis, which finds out the weaknesses and prejudges the failure trend of parts, and which provides guidance for prejudging the faults in actual production and can prevent occurrence of accidents.

Abstract: Lubricating oil used in vehicles deteriorates over the period of use, due to various causes. These include, high temperatures, great variety of contaminants like carbonic acid etc [1]. Deteriorated oil must be changed periodically, to ensure smooth performance of vehicle. Changing the lubricant too early, cause inefficient use of already depleting resources, also unwanted impact on environment. However, changing the oil too late may affect vehicle performance. Hence to compromise between these two necessities, optimum oil change point must be found.

Abstract: The reasons of occurrence of non-working fluctuations in the vibratory machine are considered. The mathematical model of movement of the loaded resonant vibratory feeder is worked out and by means of mathematical modelling is shown influence of spatial non-working fluctuations on the character of the vibratory movement of the material. It is shown, that the combination of some non-working fluctuations with working resonant fluctuations an increase of speed and intensity of movement of the material is reached which is a constructionally realizable problem.

Abstract: The objective of this paper is to present the design and fabrication of a hybrid 5-axis machining and rapid prototyping machine tool. The rapid prototyping used for this machine was fused deposition method. The extruder of the fused deposition method and the cutting spindle were installed on each end of the rotary axis respectively to reduce the complexity of this machine. Preliminary experimental results demonstrated that the machine can increase the accuracy of the product made by low-cost fused deposition method.

Abstract: Systematic experimental study has been performed to examine the effects of dispersed phase viscosity on emulsification in turbulence flow. It is found that the volume drop size distributions widen as dispersed phase viscosity increased; at lower dispersed phase viscosity, both Sauter mean diameter and the maximum stable diameter increase with the viscosity, while at higher dispersed phase viscosity, Sauter mean diameter and the maximum stable diameter decreasing and increasing, respectively. It has also been found that linear relation between the Sauter mean diameter and the maximum stable drop diameter is still valid for the emulsions which show a bimodal volume distribution, and the proportional constant decreases as dispersed phase viscosity increases.

Abstract: Processes of carbon steels fracture under their repetitive dynamic loading according to the compression scheme have been studied. It has been ascertained that the main cause of fracture of cyclically compressed specimens is crack initiation and propagation on exposure to tensile internal stresses forming at the crack tip during the external load removal stages. The crack growth rate is maximal at the initial stage of its advancement near the notch. When the crack propagates depthward the specimen, its rate decelerates and weakly depends on the current specimen cross section. A model of the steels fatigue fracture process under repetitive dynamic loading has been proposed. It has been revealed that medium-and high-carbon steels quenched and tempered at 300 °С have long life duration.

Abstract: According to the structure and characteristics of the HSK-A63 tool holder, we design and retrofit the non-standard tool holder with special function module. Establish and assemble three-dimensional entity models of embedded temperature measuring tool holder, ER collet/nut and flat end mill with Pro/E 5.0. Based on the establishment of the reasonable boundary conditions and meshing of the tool holder assembly, natural frequency and vibration modes of the tool holder assembly are calculated by modal analysis with the Ansys Workbench. These analysis results are the important research basis for the dynamic characteristics designing and dynamic balance researching to the tool system.

Abstract: Aiming at the short comings and limitations of traditional inspection method of sheet metal parts, the inspection solution based on the three dimensional model of sheet metal parts was described in this paper. According to the shape, size, accuracy requirements and so on, the system can give different inspection method. The inspection result will be achieved and the system can judge if the measured sheet metal part is qualified. The characteristics of this system are high accuracy, environmental protection and high efficiency.

Abstract: The dynamic model of Ravingneaux compound planetary gear sets has been built. Then the Natural frequency and vibration model have been solved in the Ravingneaux compound planetary gear sets. The eigensensitivity to parameters have been researched based on the dynamical model. The varying trend of natural frequency according to the varying of parameters have been researched, which include gear mass (sun gear, ring gear , or planet gear), the moment of inertia of gears, the support stiffness , the torsional stiffness.

Abstract: In any flutter prediction analysis, modal testing is necessary because flutter, a resonant like vibration occurs at a flutter frequency and adopts a mode shape akin to its structural natural modes. Modal testing can be performed computationally with knowledge of the mechanical properties of the structure. In the present work, computational modal analysis is first performed on a cantilevered hybrid composite thin plate and validated experimentally. Then, the computational procedure is demonstrated on a composite hollow wing model of same material. The concept of hollow wing is explored due to the superior mechanical properties of carbon/kevlar composite plate. It is observed that the natural frequencies of the hollow wing model are higher than thin plate due to stiffer configuration. A breathing mode was also observed at mode 4 for the hollow wing.
