Article Preview

Abstract:

For the problem of integration between process planning and job shop scheduling in CIMS, a new process planning method based on the process tree is proposed in this paper. Characters of process-tree, basic model and combination model of process-tree are defined in the paper. In addition, virtual process and redundant process path of the process-tree are also introduced, which are used to extend the scope of process-tree utilization. Through the comparison with ALPS (A Language for Process Specification) and AOS, advantages of the process-tree are shown.
