Abstract: The aim of this study is to analyze the structure of underwater lights and control these fixtures that enable controlling light emitted from lamps used in unmanned underwater robots or underwater operation in the dark depths of the ocean. The study performed buckling analysis of cylinder of the waterproof underwater lamps operable in the deep ocean, and devised control system that regulates the distance between lens and LED light source. Controllability of light diffusion underwater is verified in the control experiment of underwater lamps manufactured in this study.

Abstract: In this study, piezoelectric micropumps with partial throw-away design have been developed and discussed. The actuator, a rectangular piezoelectric plate, can be separated from the pump body and be used repeatedly while the pump chamber is single-use to prevent infection. Thus, a low cost and waste solution for biomedical uses is achieved. A mechanical model is used to analyze the behavior of pump diaphragm and chamber geometry. Pump chamber with 20mm diameter is used due to its moderate elasticity. Then, 5 pumps with different depth of pump chamber have been made. The maximum flow rate, 5.7g/min, is reached by using a 0.5mm pump chamber with a 200V actuated voltage.

Abstract: In order to raise the design efficiency and get the most excellent design effect, this paper combined Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm and put forward a new kind of neural network, which based on PSO algorithm, and the implementing framework of PSO and NARMA model. It gives the basic theory, steps and algorithm; The test results show that rapid global convergence and reached the lesser mean square error MSE) when compared with Genetic Algorithm, Simulated Annealing Algorithm, the BP algorithm with momentum term.

Abstract: Paper surface efficiency (PSE), a paper property integrating gloss and absorbency, can be used to evaluate color reproduction after the interaction of paper and ink. But it was shown that the color reproduction was still related to paper whiteness in practice. In this paper, an assumed PSE formula which integrates gloss, whiteness and ink absorbency is firstly presented, and according to experimental data, it can be well forecasted that the change of these principal paper properties would affect color reproduction result via the new PSE formula. The linear relationships between new PSE formula and ink color reproduction based the description of photo-density measurement were studied subsequently. The results showed that new PSE formula can be used to predict effectively ink color effect.

Abstract: By considering the effects of shadowing on RCS, calculation on panel and edge diffrection was performed. Taking the model of sphere and flat structure as numerical example, results show that the method is effective. The RCS of M1A2SEP tanks turrets and type 99 tanks turrets were calculated at different angle by combining the physical optics and equivalent currents. The shape of the turrets were improved to make the stealth effect better.

Abstract: Kinematics simulation study on Morse CVT input mechanism was established by using simulation software Adams, and it can get curves of displacement, velocity and acceleration of input mechanism of each bar to research its movement characteristics. This method is suit for kinematics simulation of connecting rod mechanism, meanwhile it can modify corresponding simulation parameter and is easy to do optimal design.

Abstract: Most of days, the summer temperature in Taiwan is higher than 30 degree Celsius. Where, heat dissipation for devices becomes more difficult and needs more electric power. In addition, devices discharging waste heat via traditional ways that accelerates global warming. In order to serve above problems, a self-balanced cooling system is developed. Based on Stirling engine, waste heat is recycled and transformed into a kinetic power. In this paper, this power is used to relieve heat via a fan by devices themselves. Besides, for higher heat input yields larger power to drive a fan and vice versa to Stirling engine, a self-cooling cycle naturally forms under above autonomous control. The feasibility assessment will be confirmed via simulation studies.
