Abstract: The article is focused on development trends in the field of design and production of free form surfaces (FFS), which are maily connected with computer support of these operations. There is a description of the conversion of conventional teaching into online education under the terms of Institute of production technologies of FMST STU in Trnava. The chain of knowledge that is required for design, production and checking processes of free form surfaces was created. The chain was applied into the curriculum of the following study programmes: Computer Aided Production Technologies and Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing. The checking model for education quality was created and applied for each subject.

Abstract: Present society is established as an informational. A man meets a lot of sources of information every day. Their understanding and further application in practice is important for the life of an individual human. The organisation uses the knowledge of employees for its production subsequently. The level of efficient and successful knowledge management depends on internal organisational culture. In order to prepare future employees for such a working environment, they must acquire a lot of tacit and explicit knowledge before. An educational environment at school is a basic point of creation of the knowledge of future employee, heavily influenced by teachers, teaching aids, tools and content of teaching.
The article deals with a professional education of students. This is a combination of teaching at the school with requirements of a business practice. Some facts about building-up an optimal knowledge about the field of quality are shown in this article on the example of lecturing courses about the quality. They are defined a teaching content, a form, a person of teacher, a mode of feedback from teaching and a continuity of the business practice to production systems of enterprises. The aim of the article is to contribute to building-up a learning organisation by applying of the process approach in the teaching.

Abstract: The article discusses the issue of on-line learning for Faculty of Materials Science and Technology in Trnava. This method of education was designed within the project KEGA: Realisation of on-line classroom for dynamic education of secondary technical school and university students focused on design and manufacturing of freeform surfaces. The main objective of this method of teaching is improving parent ́s faculty cooperation with detaches workplaces and increasing of the interest of secondary school students about studying on the college with technical orientation.

Abstract: In the paper there is presented a new holistic approach to an analysis and assessment of organization processes risks by an application of dynamic modelling. It relates to a procedure, allowing to make provision for and to ensure, in addition to characteristic mutual relationship in organization processes with partners, also their dynamics and indefiniteness of the environment, multicriterial assessment of processes, and a general optimization from a point of defined indicators, an aggregate analyses and assessment of organization processes risks. By help of such process there are firstly optimized all process variants of organisation. We can consider this as an added value, because the manager is disposing with results of holistic analysis and assessment of organization and process risks that means gaining of reliable information about potential risks (threats and opportunities) of an organization processes and resulting to some consequences including the opportunities. The information gained in such way results in many cases in a draft of new variants (innovations) of organization processes, by which the identified and evaluated risks are eliminated or application of an efficient strategies suggestion for their elimination. Holistic approach to an organization processes modelling has been applied on some selected manufacturing organizations, resulting in reliable results of risk analyses and assessment.

Abstract: The acquisition of data on the state of the production process is essential in the management of a company. The ERP system, as well as company management, should be continuously supplied with up-to-date information about the state of the production system, but in many cases there is a gap between the business and manufacturing layers of a company. Data on the state of production orders, machines, materials and human resources have to be automatically acquired, transmitted, archived, pre-processed and converted to a form compatible with business layer systems. There is a need for the development of methodology, describing methods of data acquisition and pre-processing directly from the shop floor. The methodology should be universal, covering the needs of different types of technological processes (discrete, continuous, batch), branches of industry and levels of production automation, etc. This paper presents the methodology of the development of Manufacturing Information Acquisition System (MIAS) covering needs for automated data acquisition, archiving and pre-processing systems, able to provide on-line production processes information for various clients. MIAS can be used as a link between data sources, MES/ERP systems and company management. Furthermore, it can be used as a stand-alone management information tool.

Abstract: This paper deals with the problematic of the ProductionMaintenance integration and what it represents to the correct functioning of the companies. As a consequence of this, it is introduced a general contribution procedure for the integration of production and maintenance planning at the tactical level. With it, elements of the Value Analysis, the Reliability Centered Maintenance and the Fuzzy Control Theory are integrated in the context of an existing method for selecting maintenance strategies. The key outputs of the proposal consist on defining (1) the roles played by the fixed assets that do really add value to the production system, (2) the best maintenance strategy for each asset and, (3) the modifications that, if necessary, are to be made in the tactical plan of production due to potential capacity problems in the maintenance subsystem.

Abstract: The present paper starts generally describing a few aims and main facilities of an academic-research oriented Institution. However, in essence, the paper mainly offers a step more into the description, analysis, identification of problems and a few customization/initial solution issues of a new iCIM 3000 system In this process, special emphasis is made on the material flow problem. For this, besides offering a description and analysis of the system and its main parts, also some tips on how to define other possible alternative material flow scenarios and a partial analysis of the combinatorial nature of the problem are offered as well; all this is done with the intentions of relating it with the use of simulation tools. For a better comprehension, the previous elements are supported by a few figures and expressions which would help obtaining necessary data. Such data and others will be used in the future, when simulating the scenarios in the search of the best material flow configurations.

Abstract: Material requirements planning (MRP) is a production planning and inventory management system used to manage logistics processes and designed to assist production managers in scheduling and placing orders for items of dependent demand. If it is implemented and used properly, it can be helpful for production managers to plan capacity needs and allocate production time. The article provides characteristics of the mentioned method; it describes the possible areas of application in manufacturing, purchasing and delivering activities. The paper considers the analysis of the production logistics in the chosen industrial company, focusing on information MRP system and the bottlenecks in the production. The work is a part of KEGA project No. 037STU-4/2012 Implementation of the subject Entrepreneurship Corporate Social Responsibility into the study program Industrial management in the second degree at the MTF STU Trnava.

Abstract: Machinery production main aim is to produce the asked products according to parameters and properties defined by costumers. For production of these components is needed the specific machinery consisted the machines, tools and fixtures. Mutual influence of these articles makes possible the production of asked components. That is a reason, why is necessary to specify particular machines that participate in production of these components. The determination of current machines number is very difficult and time consuming. For design is needed to weigh all factors joined to manufacturing process. It means inside and outside company factors influenced to manufacturing process. Lots of these factors influence extensively, concrete the speed, quality and elaborateness of particular products. According to that is necessary to use the accurate methods and the computations for machines determination in machinery.
