Abstract: As the binder of waterborne inks, the capability of acrylic polymer has great influences on the quality of inks. In this contribution, structured latex particles with a poly (stryrene-butyl acrylate-methacrylate) core and a poly (butyl acrylate-methyl methacrylate-methacrylic acid-diacetone acrylamide (DAAM)) shell, which can be used as binders of water-based ink, were prepared by emulsion polymerization. The emulsion can cure in the course of film forming at ambient temperature through the reaction between DAAM and the adipic acid dihydrazide (ADH). Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM) were used to characterize the structures and study the properties of the latices. The drying time of the crosslinking latices was investigated. In addition, influences of DAAM monomer dosage and the mole ratio of DAAM to ADH on the mechanical properties of self-crosslinkable core-shell latices were also discussed. It was found that the core-shell crosslinkable particles with a low glass transition temperature (Tg) core and a high Tg shell have better film properties and would be more applicable to binders of water-based ink for plastic film, in comparison with those particles with a high Tg core and a low Tg shell.

Abstract: Screen printing fluorescent security inks can be widely applied in the field of anti-counterfeiting packaging and printing special. Paper-based screen printing fluorescence security ink was prepared by europium polymer fluorescent material as fluorescent agent, alkyd resin etc as links, meanwhile various additives were added. The performance of europium polymer was studied by IR, UV spectra, fluorescence spectra, and fluorescent security performance of ink were studied by fluorescence spectrophotometer, the results showed that the fluorescence emission spectrum was narrow, and had a main peak at 612nm and high fluorescence efficiency, so this ink had good fluorescence security performance. The fineness, viscosity, stability etc printability of the ink were studied by fineness gauge, viscosity meter, the test result showed that the ink had good printability, can be applied in the security printing process of screen printing.

Abstract: Traditional ink based on natural pigment and soybean oil has disadvantages of poor temperature adaptive in application process. This project broke the limitations that stocks printing with traditional ink based on natural pigment and soybean oil could not be used for heating. Developing practical temperature-resistance environment-friendly ink based on natural pigment and soybean oil is of great importance. The experiment introduced the silicone material, and made full use of its characteristic. The Si-O bond of silicone can be 121 kcal/mole, and its molecular bond can not be broken down at a high temperature (or exposure to radiation). The property of high temperature resistance mainly depends on its unique functional group or long polymer chain structure. The experiment studied temperature resistance environment-friendly ink's performance in color, in order to improve its practical application value.

Abstract: A series of fluorine-modified acrylate resins used in water-based ink were synthesized by emulsifier-free semicontinuous seed emulsion polymerization with Hexafluorobutyl acrylate (G01) as a functional monomer and 2-Acrylamido-2-methyl propane sulfonic acid (AMPS) as a reactive emulsifier. The resins were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectra, particle size and distribution (PSD) analysis, contact angle (CA), mechanical stability, freeze-thaw stability and electrolyte stability, respectively. The fluorine-modified acrylate resin with 15% G01 and 3% AMPS had excellent water resistance, stabilities and narrow particle size distribution that it could be applied to the field of water-based ink.

Abstract: UV spectrophotometer was used to measure UV transmittance spectrum of pigment and photo-initiators to identify the light transmitting window of a pigment and photo-initiatorsabsorption peak , then later the types of photo-initiators was determined . In order to determine the optimal assignment of monomers, dispersing agent, defoaming agent and dispersing resin, the uniform design method was supplied to achieve the smallest particle diameter within the range of D95. After the excellent configuration of based ink, the orthogonal design methodwas used to determine the proportion of based ink, photo-initiators, film-forming resin, additives by regarding viscosity, surface tension, curing speed, and color fastness as indicators.

Abstract: In order to enhance the adhension of ink, base ink was prepared with proper pigment and grinding resin, as well as dispersing agent, then compounded it and film-forming resin. The paper has studied the major factors, including grinding resin, film-forming resin and additives, which influenced the adhension of water-based ink on UV varnish. The results indicated that the content and the variety of grinding resin had a certain influence on the adhension of water-based ink. Besides, since the structure of film-forming resin is different, it has a significant effect on the adhension of water-based ink with the change of the variety of resin. Whats more, additives, which could decrease the surface tension of ink effectively and made the ink intend to adhere on UV varnish easily, is also an important factor that influences the adhension of the water-based ink on UV varnish.

Abstract: Plastic UV frosted ink is a novel frosted ink used for the plastic substrate,As a kind of environmental printing ink, plastic UV frosted ink is attracting more attention in the application of the food packaging printing Adherence is an important performance of Plastic UV frosted ink which has directly effect on the quality of the coating and the following process. Different prepolymers, monomers and additives plastic UV frosted ink samples prepared to test their adhesion on PET substrate, explores the prepolymer, kind and content of monomer and additives for plastic UV frosted ink adhesionThe results showed that type and content of the prepolymer, monomer and additives had significant effect on the adhesion force of ink. Adhesion force of sample prepared by polyurethane prepolymer was the best. The higher degree of functionality, volume shrinkage was greater, the adhesion force was worse. An appropriate amount of additives could improve the adhesion force of ink.

Abstract: Ink used in food packaging printing graphic,it's one of the most important factors that affect the safety of packaging food,as a new environmentally friendly printing ink,UV-curable inkjet ink has attracted much attention in the application of food packaging printing .The pros and cons of performance of UV ink's color paste is the key to the preparation of UV inkjet ink.In order to prepare UV inkjet magenta ink's color paste with good dispersion, design formulation experiment for monomers in UV ink's paste, determine the monomer type and content,by changing the ratio of pigment to resin and milling time as well as the kind and the content of dispersants to prepare based ink, by testing the diameter size to evaluate dispersion of UV ink's paste. It has been proved that the monomer type and content is the key factor that influences the dispersion property of UV ink's based ink. The dispersion property of the resin to pigment depends on a great extent on the ratio of resin to pigment, milling time also play an important role. The result also proved that different kind of dispersants and content are also important factors that influence the dispersion property.

Abstract: Covering property (CP) is the most important performance of white ink. In order to research the CP of white water-based flexo ink, this paper studies the component part of ink, which is prepared by changing (a) the variety of both pigments and resins, (b) the ratio of pigment to resin, (c) the variety and the content of dispersants and (d) the variety of film-forming resins. This paper tests the diameter size and coating it onto the surface of the covering power test paper to get their CP data. It has been testified that the dispersion property is the major factor that influences the CP of the white water-based covering ink. The variety of both pigments and resins, the ratio of pigment to resin are the key factors for the CP; the result also proves that different kind of dispersants and contents are also important factors that influence the dispersion property.
