Abstract: A novel OFDM radar processing algorithm using pilot signal is proposed in this paper. Based on the prior knowledge of the pilot signal in OFDM symbol in communication system, the receiver can estimate the transmitter's range, velocity by the processing of the received modulation domain signal. In addition, we test the approach by the OFDM frame signal of the famous IEEE Std 802.11p, the results show it can work robustly and is very suitable for the vehicular application.

Abstract: The unbalanced masses of wheel have an important effect on the performance of the car. There we use the ADAMS software to establish the kinetic model of a wheel about the 1/4 suspension, and do the vibration analysis of unbalanced masses to a single wheel by the modular of ADAMS/Vibration.

Abstract: This study constitutes an empirical fleet with electric vehicles (EV) and conventional vehicles (CV) which used by a large number of test participants who have different travel mileage to research the fuel-saving efficiency of EVs under daily travel mode within six months. Experimental results show that there is a great difference in energy consumption when EV running under different average temperatures and seasons. During summer (high temperature) and winter (low temperature) the energy consumption is bigger and the average electric consumption of 100-kilometer is 12.3 kWh/100km. The fuel-saving efficiency of EV in Tianjin empirical test is 66.7% and which is 74.8% in ten typical cities in China. EV has better fuel-saving effect in the whole country. The fuel-saving efficiency in working-days and rest-days is 80.3% and 42.2% respectively. EV has the best fuel-saving effect in working-days.

Abstract: Power battery pack under high-rate discharge conditions produces thermal aggregation phenomena. Generated heat during charging and discharging that distributes in battery pack affects performance of battery and so that shortens its life. So the battery pack thermal management is necessary to electric vehicles. In this paper, an ideal thermal management solution is put forward with a battery pack temperature equilibrium approach and a battery pack overall thermal dissipation structure by finite element analysis. Theoretical analysis result shows that the thermal management solution can effectively cool the battery pack to the ideal working temperature range 25~40°C and improve the battery pack temperature uniformity with the maximum temperature difference which is below 5°C, which enhance the cycle life of power battery pack for electric vehicle applications.

Abstract: For the driver in the process of moving inconvenient to manually operated vehicle electronics, as well as the monopoly of foreign technology and other issues related , a framework based on DSP + MCU car speech recognition and control systems is designed. According to the embedded application environment, the corresponding recognition algorithm and the hardware architecture of DSP + MCU are chosen, in which DSP is mainly responsible for voice signal processing work, MCU is responsible for communicating with DSP and MCU to obtain recognition results after speech signal processing, as the final control instructions .The experimental results show that the hardware platform can run normally, and control the car body light on experimental bench.

Abstract: Though music listening while driving is a popular activity, it is not clear the effects of music mood induction on driving performance in different road conditions. In this study, four music samples with strongest mood features were selected by simplified Delphi method. Then driving performance in two road conditions induced by five music moods were investigated by comparative experiments. Results of ANOVA preliminarily demonstrated the significant differences between driving performance induced by various music mood in different road conditions. Furthermore, a mobile music player was developed and installed in two intelligence assist vehicles to validate its usability in the practice.

Abstract: The adjustment test of steering column is an important parameter for automobiles safety, but the unified standard and test method are not yet formed. Build parameterized model of steering column internal and external spline shafts, and analysis the contact stress changes in the movement process using Abaqus/standard. The movement speed of 5 mm/s in the x, y direction as example, and stress distribution of regulating movement are obtained. Experimental result shows that the maximum overall stress grows with the adjusting movement speed growth, and its in conformity with actual parts failure.

Abstract: Vehicle suspension system plays an important role in the influence of whole vehicle handling and riding characteristic, as an important part of vehicle chassis system. In the paper, based on the basic test parameters and relevant modeling data of ex-MacPherson suspension of the sample car, the virtual prototype model of this suspension is built by making use of ADAMS/Car module. According to the requirements of the relevant design, some of the model parameters have been adjusted, on the basis of which, K&C characteristic simulation before and after the adjustment is done. The results show that, after adjustment, the majority of suspension K&C characteristic is satisfied, and improved the kinematics of the suspension system.

Abstract: The number of traffic accidents, caused by driving when intoxicated by alcohol (DWI), is increasing with the arrival of the Chinese automobile society, and affect the society seriously. DWI has become brutal killers increasingly. The DWI has caused much economic losses and casualties in the world. In order to eliminate the DWI, many countries have made lots of ways to prevent drunk driving. A hand-held breath alcohol tester and headspace gas chromatograph blood alcohol tester are always used by the police. A handheld alcohol tester has many disadvantages, such as wasting police power, heavy workload, low efficiency, narrow coverage and affecting the normal traffic. Therefore, the study of the system to prevent drunken driving has a very important practical significance.

Abstract: When observing the WWD-0.8/10 air compressor that was noiseless and oilless, its vibration and noise were large. These phenomena were related to air compressors reciprocating inertial force and overturning moment which were separately depended on pistons acceleration and forces of connecting rod. Movement mechanisms three-dimensional solid model establishment, virtual assembly and motion simulation were accomplished by Pro/E. The main procedures were introduced in the paper. Many important metrical data obtained about pistons acceleration and forces of connecting rod by motion simulation could supply necessary references for air compressors dynamic optimizations.
