Design of a Vibration-Based Pipeline Leak Detection System

Abstract:

This paper develops a pipeline leak detection system based on vibration analysis method. It introduces hardware designs, experimental methods and diagnosis algorithms. The system uses the generalized cross-correlation (GCC) algorithm to analyze the vibration signals stimulated by pipeline leakage. And the analysis is weighted by three methods, including ROTH, SCOT and PHAT method. The results show that this system can quickly and accurately detect the pipeline leakage.
