On the Method of Extracting Parameters of Softwood Growth Ring

Abstract:

The extraction of value of annual ring characteristics parameters plays a vital role in the experiment of identifying tree species and the extraction accuracy can greatly affect the result. Method of color control image graying is used in the pretreatment of images of annual ring. The image being grayed is smoothed for better treatment results. 6 kinds of characteristics parameters of annual ring images segmented are extracted. Results show that better results can be achieved using this method.
