Abstract:

As an enterprise database product, SQL Server must track space usage status of all data pages in data files. SQL Server uses PFS page to track information of space usage in data pages. This paper discusses the principles of data page space tracking. Performed add, delete, modify, etc. series of experiments, results shown that the PFS data changes corresponding to different data operations.
