Abstract:

Vast tidal flats in Jiangsu coastal areas boast bright prospects for development. Developing and exploiting tidal flats in a scientific and efficient manner will help promote the sustainable development of the environment. In conformity with the requirement of modern tidal flats landscape design, the paper discusses the significance of genius loci and explores the interactions among humans, nature and place to realize sound interaction between humans and nature on both physical and spiritual level and enable space user to develop a sense of belonging to the place that can truly become humane environment desired by humans and fully realize the essential value of genius loci.
