Research on Numerical Simulation and Experiment of Plate Fin Type Intercooler in Turbocharged Natural Gas Engine

Article Preview

Abstract:

In this paper, the mathematical model of plate fin type intercooler in turbocharged natural gas engine (NGE) is established. The main parameters of the intercooler, such as fin form and geometry parameters, the cross-sectional area of channel and area of heat exchange, the channel number and arrangement, the intercooler core size are simulated. The 3D model of the intercooler is established and the pressure loss is checked based on the simulation results. The assembly test results of the intercooler and NGE show that the errors of the design value and the test value of all parameters are not more than 5%, which shows that the plate fin type intercooler designed meets the design requirements.
