The Study of Arc Welding Power Circuit Based on Forward Converter with LCD Nondissipative Snubber

Article Preview

Abstract:

Through the study of double switch forward converter, an arc welding power circuit with LCD nondissipative snubber is designed by using IGBT as its power switch. The operating principle of this converter is analyzed in detail; the design considerations of key circuit parameters for the topology are introduced. The LCD nondissipative snubber can not only suppress the voltage spike, but also reduce switching loses and improve power density and efficiency. Furthermore, the snubber itself is lossless. The paper provides the foundation of researching high efficiency power circuit based on Interleaving Two-Transistor converter. The experiment results of the prototype coincide with the theoretical analysis and the validity of analysis approach is proved.
