CIM Extensions for the Distributed Energy Resources Integration

Article Preview

Abstract:

The Common Information Model (CIM) is an abstract data model that can be used to represent the major objects in Distribution Management System (DMS) applications. Because the CIM doesn’t modeling the Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), it can’t meet the requirements of DER operation and management for DMS advanced applications. Based on the DMS function requirements and IEC61850 DER data modal, the article established the corresponding DER information models in CIM for DMS applications integration.
