Identification of Factors Causing Damage to Conveyor Belts during the Transportation of Coal

Article Preview

Abstract:

The paper deals with the identification of the factors that cause damages of conveyor belts at coal quarry. On the base of statistical processing of the data obtained from 4 open-pit mining sectors the most important factors causing time-outs are identified. The cause-effect relation is demonstrated on the example of bipartite graph where the higher valence of each out-vertex signalizes the greater importantce of the considered factor to cause shatter effects. In order to avert the negative effects, break-downs and increase the reliability of conveyor belts a monitoring system for these belts is proposed.
