Conclusion In this paper I list the advantages and disadvantages of three kinds of methods respectively based on STL model, CAD directly layering and smart slice algorithm, finally compare the optimal algorithm is smart slice algorithm based on STL model. And getting the following conclusion: (1) the STL file layered approach is still the mainstream of RP layering technology in the short term. (2) CAD directly layering method has the advantages of correctiing data process is simple, but still need a standard file format for the application. (3) smart slice algorithm based on STL model of high precision parts, reduces the memory consumption because of using adjacency list data structure, and the calculation process is simple , so it has good development prospect.
