Installing & Remolding of Air Gun Source to Research Vessel “Yanping 2”

Abstract:

Fujian Seismological Bureau and Fujian Marine Research Institute co-established the geophysical exploration platform of “Yanping 2” on basis of a long-term and comprehensive partnership sticking to the principle of equality, reciprocity and complementary advantages. The cooperation meets the requirements of Fujian Seismological Bureau to conduct marine geophysical prospecting and marine seismic observation and research in Taiwan Straits and adjacent areas. According to the cooperation agreement, “Yanping 2”, apart from the its original operation capacity, will be remolded into a vessel compatible to air gun source system and related devices will be installed. The accomplishments of remolded “Yanping 2” demonstrate that the sub-systems of “Yanping 2” can live up to relevant standards, and the remolding and installing of air gun source to “Yanping 2” has been successful.
