Abstract: Engineers and researchers pay close attention to high-filled embankment project with loess as its main filler. In order to study its characteristics and settlement rules, a series of laboratory tests on the fillers and in situ observation based on the actual project located in the east central of Taiyuan were made. These work resulted in some settlement curves for the each soil layer. Then some basic physical properties of loess were get at the same time. Observation results were analyzed and the influence of different factors on the settlement curves were discussed. After considering various factors, effective construction suggestions were raised to control the dry density and moisture content in order to decrease the settlement of embankment and improve the quality of the construction.

Abstract: In order to reveal the effect of admixture type and quantity on the strength of stabilized soil, a series of indoor test is done on the stabilized soil by means of unconfined compressive strength test. The raw material soil used in the experiment is sludge soil, and cement, triethanolamine, caustic soda are used as admixture. A lot of solidified samples are prepared according to test scheme in different admixture’s proportion. From the test results, it can be seen that different admixture and it’s quantity affect the strength of stabilized soil by analyzing the sample’s unconfined compressive strength test results.

Abstract: The paper used the numerical software of RFPA2D-Dynamic to build the numerical simulation model of the Brazilian disk and study the initiation, propagation, coalescence of the crack and eventually fail through setting different compression stress waves, and analyzed the failure mechanism and process of the rock. The results showed: (1) With the increase of the stress rate, the tensile strengthen of the rock also increases and has a logarithmic growth. (2) Under the higher stress rate, the time of the damage, crack initiation, and coalescence are in advance comparatively. At the same loading time, the damage and failure scale are more obvious. (3) The failure model of the Brazilian disc is splitting along loading path and appears “V-shaped” failure zone at the contact area .

Abstract: In order to reveal the effect of type of admixture and its content on the strength of stabilized soil, this paper uses the sludge as raw soil and cement, fly ash as curing agent, and analyzes the strength characteristics of samples mixed stabilized according to certain content. Using the unconfined compressive strength test, the compressive strength of the samples is tested. The effect of curing agent type and its content on the compressive strength is investigated. From the experimental results, it can be seen that the content of cement and fly ash has much effect on the strength. The conclusions obtained can have some conference values on the foundation treatment and reuse of waste resources utilization.

Abstract: It is found from the earthquake statistics in recent decades that the vertical seismic oscillation of near field was strong. And even the recorded peak value of vertical seismic oscillation was far more than the peak value of horizontal seismic oscillation in some sites. In order to study the characteristics of vertical and horizontal seismic oscillation acceleration acted on the slope. Calculate the slope earthquake dynamic response characteristics under the horizontal and vertical seismic acceleration by the FLAC3D numerical analysis method. Compared the acceleration, velocity and the displacement amplification coefficient under two kinds of excitation. Analyzed the influence on seismic stability by the acceleration of different direction.

Abstract: The design scheme and engineering construction technology are proposed for an accommodation highway subgrade on the basis of forming reasons and hazard analysis of saline soil in Xinjiang region. In the design, major measures adopted include basement replacement, setting aeolian sand layer and composite geotextile layer, strengthening the subgrade waterproofing and drainage, antiseptic treatment of structures, etc. This paper introduces the subgrade design and construction technology, of which the implementation and application on the test section have achieved a favorable effect and can be taken as the basis for design and construction of similar saline soil subgrade.

Abstract: It is relatively common that the instability of foundation pit issue in the current process of building construction. Based on an unstable foundation pit engineering, analyzes the effectiveness of the soil nails, anti-slide pile and foundation bottom consolidation three types of support measures by using finite element analysis method. The three types of support measures are proven to be having certain effective to improve the stability of the unstable foundation pit which is based on the study results, and it is more effective by combining with the three types of support measures.

Abstract: According to severe deformation of crossheading surrounding rock of Xinshun Mine 15102# roadway. Sight instrument method is adopted to loose circle test of crossheading surrounding rock, and study the damage range. The study result indicates that the loose circle is about 2.5m~3.0m of 15102# roadway. The loose circle of sides is about 2.4m~2.8m; belong to typical large loose circle. And roof loose circle is a little more than sides. Surrounding rock has some engineering characteristics of soft rock, leading to loose circle rock fragment and expand severely. Increase supporting difficulty. It adopts unite supporting form in the case of surrounding rock.

Abstract: In order to study the long-term deformation behaviour of salt rock gas storage at cyclic load, numerical method is adopted to simulate the salt mine at Hubei Yunying under the cyclic mining and injection pressure with maximum inter pressure of 20 MPa and minimum one of 2 MPa in ten years. As can be seen from the long-term simulation results, not only has the utilization of gas storage been reduced and has the wall rock of salt rock under cyclic loads continued to deteriorate. The test results provide both the basis for the safe and stable operation of the salt cave and a reference for the salt cave design of same type.
