The Influence of the Sheared Profile’s Shape on the Punching Force

Article Preview

Abstract:

The punching force computed in a theoretical way differs from the one determined experimentally because of the actual conditions in which the shearing of the material takes place (such as the material’s thickness and nature, the clearance between the active elements, the lubrication recipe, the mechanical properties’ anisotropy, the thickness variation, the punching speed, the sheared profile’s length and shape etc.). This paper emphasizes the influence of the sheared profile’s shape on the punching force.
