Multi-Objective Optimization for Sizing of Distributed Generation Using Cuckoo Search Algorithm

Abstract:

This paper presents multi-objective optimization for sizing of distributed generation using cuckoo search algorithm. The study involved the development of cuckoo search optimization engine. Prior to the development of multi-objective for cuckoo algorithm, a pre-developed voltage stability index termed as FVSI for location identification is used in this study. Weighted sum technique is used as the fitness for the problem formulation. Objectives of the study are to minimize the total real power and improve its voltage stability condition. Test is done on IEEE 69-Bus Radial Distribution System. Results obtained from the study indicated that the proposed technique is feasible for further implementation in power system.
