Abstract: The paper presents the operational diagnostic problems in production systems. It briefly discusses the estimation of vibroacoustic signal characteristics used in diagnostic systems, the possibility of applications have been pointed out. Basing on the elements of the fuzzy logic, decision-making system in the areas of ambiguity during machining has been presented. An initial structure of the integrated supporting system of manufacturing processes dedicated to small and medium-sized enterprises in the metal industry have been shown. Future directions of authors’ research work have been indicated.

Abstract: This paper presents the concept of computer system’s module supporting production scheduling. Presented are algorithms, which realise the function and their operation is described. Based on those discussions was developed a prototype IT solution, which realises presented in this paper functions.

Abstract: Decision tables are used in the elaboration of knowledge representation. This article describes the possibilities of using decision tables for production preparation in enterprises of machine industry. The basic structure and decision tables properties in information processing, based on design rules, were characterized. A procedure for the creation of classical decision tables concerning exemplary pre-treatment decision variants was presented. A method of elaboration of modal decision table for the input material assignment to the production was described. An example regarding the construction of knowledge elements basing on the fuzzy sets and levels of capability and statements certainty was shown. Developed decision tables can be used in the construction of an expert system aided design of technological processes

Abstract: One of the key elements of the implementation of enterprise management systems is to provide a suitably efficient and comprehensive data acquisition from the design phase of products. What the manufacturing requires from the design phase are a bill of materials, routes of manufacturing processes, and manufacturing documentation. Very often the creation of process documentation and the time of its formation are its major limitations. This article describes methods for integrating CAD/PDM and ERP systems. It presents their advantages and disadvantages, while the main objectives and tasks involved in their implementation in engineering organizations are analyzed.

Abstract: This paper presents generic concept of using measuring devices of using cloud-based services as a basic application of the Internet of Things (IoT) model. This type of applications will become a base of future of the Web of Things paradigm. A high level of operational infrastructure is outlined and corresponding technologies are illustrated. To demonstrate the data provision, a cloud-based solution is described along with details of its design and operation. A number of technology, including communication protocols, transportation protocols and middleware are depicted as a basic introduction of implementation of future WoT solutions.

Abstract: Internet of Things (IoT) is a technology enabling identification of individual devices, providing mutual communication between them and their user, and allowing them to cooperate. What is more, IoT delivers tools for simplification of monitoring and controlling of processes. The present article introduces an evolved solution to the Internet of Things usage in a machine cutting process of laminated boards relying on the Cloud Computing technology.

Abstract: The paper presents the possibility of using cloud computing in project management. Cloud computing is the most rapidly growing field of IT and is used in many areas of business activity. Modern companies and organizations carry out many activities in the form of projects. Case study of two projects using cloud computing shows that it is possible and can be successful use of cloud computing in project management. The first project involved the transfer of ERP system in an international enterprise, and the other, a smaller one, involved the implementation of technical documentation in railway station reconstruction. The scope of the projects were different and the using of cloud computing were different. Finished projects testify to the fact that the project needs may impinge on the different ways to use cloud computing. And that the projects can be successful.

Abstract: Controlling of the manufacturing processes is one of the key factors that allow companies to produce goods of high quality. In the article one of methods of the quality management - statistical process control (SPC) has been discussed. On the example of the car headrests manufacturing enterprise benefits from applying this method have been presented. Authors pointed out that the use of statistical methods in decision-making processes must not be difficult and time-consuming, if is being supported by a computer with using inexpensive tools.

Abstract: The article presents the mathematical model of production control for a random planning horizon. The model assumes that the horizon of control is unknown and connected with reliability of machines, which are used for production. The aim of the control model is to determine the number of products which should be manufactured in each planning period to minimize both manufacturing costs and potential financial penalties for failing to fulfill the order completely.
