A New Cutter Selecting Method Based on Ontology for Low-Carbon Manufacturing

Article Preview

Abstract:

Cutter selecting is a key point in the machining process, and also is an important way to improve the green degree of the cutting process. The conventional expert systems have been unable to meet the requirements of modern green manufacturing. A knowledge description method based on ontology has been adopted in this paper in order to express the complexity and diversity of the cutter selecting knowledge better. A low carbon manufacturing model is constructed to evaluate the selecting scheme reasonably. The results show the presented method not only improves the efficiency and correctness of cutter selecting, but also ensures the practicality of selecting results.
