Abstract: Distillation processes are essential to the chemical engineering industry, particularly in oil and gas, but account for approximately 40 % of total energy consumption in chemical processing. This study introduces a novel framework aimed at significantly improving energy efficiency in distillation processes by integrating advanced sequence analysis and energy optimization techniques. The proposed framework synthesizes Energy-Efficient Distillation Column (EEDC) sequences using the Driving Force method, followed by the application of Thermal Pinch Analysis to develop Energy-Integrated Distillation Columns (EIDC). The EEDC sequences demonstrated a 13.8 % reduction in energy consumption, while further integration through thermal pinch analysis resulted in a total energy saving of 23.4 %. These results highlight the potential for significant energy and cost savings, making distillation processes more sustainable and reducing their environmental impact. The findings offer valuable insights for both academia and industry, providing a pathway to more energy-efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally sustainable distillation practices.

Abstract: Traffic control devices are a compulsory component of any road network. Theft of metallic signs is a growing issue in many developing countries. It leads to safety risks and financial losses. . This study explores a sustainable alternative to traffic control devices by introducing fiberglass sheets and bamboo posts as the primary manufacturing materials. A schematic of the developed signpost assembly is presented. Market survey conducted in Karachi confirms that fiberglass has negligible resale value, making it less susceptible to theft. Mechanical testing, including tensile and flexural assessments, showed reliable strength. The material achieved an average tensile strength of 4.45 kN and a flexural strength of 36 MPa, suitable for outdoor use. The total estimated cost per unit is PKR 5,400, offering a low-cost alternative to conventional materials. These results support the variability of the proposed design for deployment in resource-constrained and theft-prone environments.

Abstract: This article delves into the economic benefits of digital technology adoption in the oil and gas industry. Using the real-world example of LLC "Enterprise" a company successfully leveraging the "ECO" digital platform with a dynamic digital twin to optimize well construction processes, the article highlights the significant cost reductions achieved in labor, materials, and energy consumption. This is accompanied by enhanced data quality and error prevention. The outcome for LLC "Enterprise" is not only reduced costs but also increased operational efficiency, resulting in substantial profit growth. The article outlines crucial considerations for implementing digital technologies in the oil and gas sector, emphasizing both economic efficiency and the positive impact on product and service quality.

Abstract: The emanation of the concept of Industry 4.0 has instigated disruptive and emergent acumen and advanced information technologies, enabling an ever more production efficiency and adeptness level. The technologies of Industry 4.0 have an enormous and gigantic potential of drastically influencing the environmental and social sustainability while accelerating distinguishing contributions in the sustainable development. In this paper, sustainability insinuations and applications of the technologies of Industry 4.0 has been profoundly scrutinized focusing numerous environmental, social and economic attributes by perceiving the alignment of the technologies of Industry 4.0 with sustainability. Although, the goal of integrating Industry 4.0 and sustainability is to enhance the environmental sustainability through the creation of an ecological support guaranteeing ever-higher and more-absolute environmental performance. The novelty of this paper mendacities in its considerate depiction of the technologies of Industry 4.0 and their significant integration with sustainability goalmouths for the creation of sustainable Industry 4.0 and assimilating the environmental sustainability protection.
