Effect of EPS on Flocculation and Settlement of Activated Sludge in MBR

Article Preview

Abstract:

The purpose is to determine the main influencing factors of flocculation and settlement of activated Sludge in MBR. By establishment of regression equation the main influence factor of flocculation and Settlement is ensured. The result shows that EPS has significant effect. The more the content of EPS, the poorer sludge characters. The polysaccharide makes important function during the process. It is hydrophilic substances. As polysaccharide is more, flocculation body will hold more water. At the same time, the separation of flocculation body and water is more difficult.
