Studies on the Organic Utilization of the Traditional Materials in the Construction of the Folk Houses in North Guangxi

Abstract:

Lying in the southwest of China and having a very unique environment and history, north Guangxi is known for its great variety of natural conditions and folk cultures. Addressing the application of the traditional construction material from the ecological prospective, this paper looks into how the traditional construction materials are utilized in the folk houses in the northern part of Guangxi, the reason behind and the impacts upon the architecture. The related finding will provide suggestions on the protection, renovation, as well as the inheritance of the traditional folk architectural heritage.
