The Study of Top Slag Reforming in the RH Refining Process

Article Preview

Abstract:

The top slag reforming in RH refining process was studied in this paper to decrease inclusion and improve the deep drawing property of Ultra-low carbon cold-rolled steel. Different experiment schemes of top slag reforming were conducted and the result show that, when Al40 was added on the surface of the slag after the ladle reach station uniformly, the size of inclusions was decreased and the quantity of large-volume inclusions was obviously decreased, and the top slag reforming will not have big impact on decarbonization in the RH refining process.
