Abstract: An enzyme substrate, 4-nitrophenyl-β-D-ribofuranoside, was synthesized from commercially available 1,2,3,5-tetra-O-acetyl-β-D-ribofuranoside and p-nitrophenol using an efficient glycosylation. The synthesized substrate can fulfill the requirements for the detection of ribofuranosidase.

Abstract: A facile and effective route to the synthesis of different sulfonyl azides using the inexpensive NaN3 and common sulfonyl chlorides was reported, which could be further applied to the synthesis of sulfonamide-containing compounds.

Abstract: Electron beam irradiation is a chemical technology which mainly applies to food irradiation preservation, radiation sterilization of medical supplies, radiation chemistry and so on. It can change the molecular structure by using the radioactive radiation. In this present study, soybean protein concentrate powder was treated by electron beam irradiation to investigate its effects on the DH, the peptide antioxidant activity and the microcosmic surface morphology. The results indicated that the electron beam irradiation did not have effect on the DH. However, the peptide antioxidant activity significantly increased when increasing the irradiation dose. The highest peptide antioxidant activity 56.84 % was obtained at 3.24 kGy. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) revealed that there were a number of changes to the microcosmic surface morphology after the electron beam irradiation. Not only the shape of the soybean protein concentrate powder particles was changed, but the surface state was changed as well.

Abstract: Cu-Al catalysts were synthesized by the co-precipitation method to study hydrolysis of hydrogen cyanide. During the synthesis, the impact of Cu/Al molar ratio, pH value and calcination temperature was investigated and the best synthesis condition was found. The results indicate that the remove of hydrogen cyanide first increases and then decreases with increasing Cu/Al molar ratio, pH value and calcination temperature, which reaches the maxima and remains above 95% at 360 min when Cu/Al molar ratio is 2:1, pH value is approximately 8.0 and calcination temperature is 400°C around. The analysis of X-ray diffraction (XRD) shows that Cu content is the main influence factor at Cu/Al molar ratio below 2:1 whereas crystallinity of catalysts is the key factor at Cu/Al molar ratio above 2:1.

Abstract: The oxidative-reductive carbonylation of dimethyamine and aromatic nitro-compound catalyzed by selenium to yield herbicides has been studied. The selectivity of herbicide is above 99%. In the reaction there is a phase-transfer process. The catalyst can also be separated from the product by simple phase separation.

Abstract: The compound of camellia oil and insect wax was applied in cosmetics supplemented by policosanol, fish collagen peptide and so on to prepare an O/W-type skin care lotion, and the lotion formula was finally confirmed as follows: camellia oil: 2.40-4.50%, insect wax: 0.80-2.40%, policosanol: 0.03-0.50%, sodium oleate: 1.40%, vaseline: 3.00-6.00%, glycerinum: 3.30-7.60%, triethanolamine: 0-0.50%, sodium carboxymethylcellulose: 1.00-2.00%, fish collagen peptide: 1.50-2.50%, methylparaben: 0.10%, propylparaben: 0.10%, deionized water: allowance. Various properties of the skin care lotion were tested according to relevant standards, and the sensory and physical-chemical indexes of the lotion all tallied with the national standards and some of them even were significantly better than the premium-grade standard requirements. The particles of the prepared lotion were mainly in uniform size and regular shape, which was similar to that of the reference commodity lotion. The skin care lotion was proven to be low in skin irritation and fine in moisturizing efficacy.

Abstract: Four kinds of Brønsted-acidic ionic liquids were synthesized with netrogen-contained chemical groups and different anions, and were characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and infrared spectrum (IR). On this basic, when the mole ratio of catalyst quantity to oleic acid was 0.019, that of alcohol to acid was 2, the reaction temperature was 150°C and the reaction time was 5 hours, the esterification of oleic and methanol were studied and the catalytic activities of ionic liquids for the esterification were investigated. The results showed their catalytic activities were associated with the structures of nitrogen-contained chemical groups, anionic acid strength and acid volume. Under the coaction of anions and cations, ionic liquids ([MPy]HSO4) had the best catalysis activity. Meanwhile the conversion rate of oleic acid could reach 88.21% .

Abstract: A novel galactoside derivative (1) incorporating p-nitroaniline (p-NA) as chromophore has been synthesized and used as a cascaded chromogenic enzyme substrate for the detection of β-D-galactosidase, which was characterized using UV, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and MS spectra. A plausible mechanism for the release of p-NPA from the enzyme substrate 1 was proposed.

Abstract: A dumbbell-shaped polyrotaxane based on polytetrahydrofuran bis (3-aminopropyl) terminated and α-cyclodextrins using polyamidoamine (PAMAM) dentrimers as bulky stoppers was successfully prepared. The 1H NMR results show that the peaks of α-CDs in these polyrotaxanes are broadened compared with pure α-CDs. Wide-angle X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements of the resulting polyrotaxanes suggest to produce a channel-type crystalline structure of inclusion complex. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) of the resultant polyrotaxanes show that α-CDs are significantly stabilized by the formation of the inclusion complexes.
