Preparation and Performance of Compound Polyurethane Foam Plastic Board for Freezing Prevention in Channel Lining

Article Preview

Abstract:

The influence of different particle size and filling amount of particles of cornstalks on the density and compressive strength of polyurethane foam plastic board has been studied in this paper. The results indicate that the comprehensive properties of polyurethane foam plastic board is better when the particle size varies from 0.45 to 1.5mm and the filling amount is 30% which could meet the needs of avoiding the frost heaving failure in the canal lining blocks. And compared with the foam plastic board without filling particles, the property can be equal with particles of cornstalks filled in, but the cost can be reduced about 25%. Meanwhile, the cornstalks are fully reused, which also help protect the environment.
