Fast Laboratory Test for Mechanism of Natural Nanoclay-Water Interaction

Article Preview

Abstract:

The relation between nanoclay and water effects is very complicated. Interactions of water and nano size type of silicate –aluminum is more complicated due to the special properties of nano material. A new simple technique is developed for studying the swelling phenomenon which represents the most important property of clay-water relation. The developed technique could find more aspects of water-clay behavior. The swelling property is not always only disadvantage with bad effects but sometimes has very important advantages. A comparison and differences with conventional clay-water are made. The results are very important in studying the nanocomposites and clay soil.
